Rev Canon Dr Chigor Chike is the vicar of Emmanuel Church Forest Gate. Rev Chigor has been in Parish since 1999, having started his ministry in Birmingham as a Church Army Evangelist. Rev Chigor has also been active in the social justice and interfaith field in the UK for many years. He chairs a race-equality organisation and leads an interfaith project called Faithful Friends.
Rev Chigor holds PhD in Christian Theology and an MA in Islamic Studies. He has published several religious books, including the ground-breaking book, African Christianity in Britain.
Rev Chigor is the national Chair of the Anglican Minority Ethnic Network (AMEN) and is a Visiting Lecturer on Christian Mission, Pentecostalism and World Religions at the University of Roehampton. Regarding his ministry at Emmanuel Church, Rev Chigor says, “I always thank God for the opportunity he gives people day after day to encounter him through Emmanuel Church”.
The Revd Prince Odoemena, is an Assistant Curate at Emmanuel Church in Forest Gate, East London and the Vocations Officer (aka Vocations Enabler) for the Diocese of Chelmsford. He was ordained in 2011. He has wealth of missions and ministry experiences in West Africa and The Middle East before returning to The Church of England.
Revd Prince Odoemena is married to the beautiful Genevive and they have 4 lovely children together. He is fluent in English and in the Igbo language. He love studying, teaching and discussing theology and philosophy. His friends and colleagues describe him as "prophetic, imaginative, theologically sophisticated and deeply pastoral".
